Kristian Rossi To Illustrate LADY SATAN!!!
Updated: Apr 17

Since it's conception, 'LADY SATAN' has amassed interest and support. However, there has also been major challenges in getting this book produced. Even after a very successful crowdfunding campaign. But it would appear that those struggles are coming to an end. After many delays in the production, Kristian Rossi (Ed Gein: Demon Hunter, Rad Rose, Void Walker) has now joined the project!
PAST CHALLENGES
Since the creation, pre-production and promotion of 'LADY SATAN', challenges have presented themselves. Some have been directly involving the project (including harassment, hate mail and death threats) as well as indirect challenges (Dealing with the passing of a friend, attempted suicide from a friend, being on the receiving end of abusive behaviour from a supposed loved one etc).
All of these incidents have interfered with the production of 'LADY SATAN', especially as I have been the only person attached to the project, except for my editor, John Wakefield. The project was too large for me to handle on my own, let alone handling it while having to deal with a series of life events that have ranged from trying to traumatic. However, during this same time, progress on my other title 'ED GEIN: DEMON HUNTER' has been steady and consistent. This is due to my role in the book has been to write and letter the book. While the editorial side of the project has been handled by John Wakefield and the art duties have been handled by Kristian Rossi.
So, while many supporters and backers of the project have been eager to get hold of a book that has been delayed for some time, another one of my books has been handled exceptionally well by a team that I have been the head of and the production has resulted in the book being serialized and published on time. Therefore, it has become painfully obvious to me that to finally get 'LADY SATAN' out to the people who are eager to support and read this book, I must make some compromises and change direction.
The first of these changes is to build a team instead of being a one-man army. Therefore, it was obvious to me that the best person to illustrate the book was none other than Kristian Rossi. Especially as our current working relationship has been a happy, creative and productive relationship.
With Kristian on board, I can focus on the writing and lettering duties for the project while John Wakefield can focus on the editorial duties. Making this the same team that brought you 'ED GEIN: DEMON HUNTER'.
The second change/compromise to be brought forward is the distribution of the book. Originally the book was slated to be an eighty-page graphic novel and then became a 130-page graphic novel. While there will still be a softcover and hardcover graphic-novel edition, the book will also be serialized. Meaning that anyone who backed the book during the IndieGoGo campaign will receive both the single issues as well as the preferred graphic novel format.
Just like 'ED GEIN: DEMON HUNTER', each issue of 'LADY SATAN' will come with full-colour covers and black and white interiors. Page counts of the individual issues are still to be confirmed. Especially as Kristian will not begin on the art duties for 'LADY SATAN' until Issue Four of 'ED GEIN: DEMON HUNTER' is complete.
During this lead up to Kristian beginning his work on 'LADY SATAN', I will be going through the original scripts and tightening up the story where I see fit to make this the best book it can be.
Once Kristian has begun work on the first issue of 'LADY SATAN', I will prepare promotional materials. I will also organise gifts for the backers and begin work on my next book (the title will remain a secret for now, even though I know you guys will love it).
THE STORY OF LADY SATAN
'LADY SATAN: AN ANGEL IN A KILLERS DRESS' is a dark tale of revenge that takes elements of both the horror and thriller genre and blends them with a noir aesthetic and a character driven story that will take you through a personal journey of darkness and vengeance.
After surviving being in a snuff film, Lucille Fourrure (A.K.A. Lady Satan), a stripper turned vigilante from France finds herself on British soil. She has travelled from town to town taking down criminals in the hopes that she will one day find the man responsible for her past ordeal. An ordeal that left her with P.T.S.D. (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and P.G.A.D. (Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder) as well as an appetite for revenge.
But when Lady Satan finds the location of the man responsible for her traumatic past, she discovers that he is a high ranking police officer named Chief Inspector Bennett who is under investigation by internal affairs. Feeling incapable of bringing him down, Lady Satan is reluctant to exact her revenge upon him. Until she finds evidence that links Chief Inspector Bennett to several unforgivable crimes.
Now, Lady Satan must battle her anxiety, doubts, crippling P.T.S.D. and her debilitating P.G.A.D. in order to exact her revenge upon Chief Inspector Bennett!

HOW DOES IT MAKE YOU FEEL?
While I'm sure that this move will have plenty of readers excited for what is to come, it is also understandable that some readers/backers may not be happy. After all, the response I received due to my artwork for the book was nothing short of fantastic.
However, decisions like this do not come lightly and I have done what I believe to be what is best for the book, the character and most importantly, the readers.
At the end of the day, I am a writer first and foremost. To go a day without writing is liking asking to go an hour without breathing. While I appreciate that people love my artwork, the fact of the matter is: I can live without drawing. This doesn't mean that I won't draw stories in the future. However, for now, I believe it is in everyone's best interests if I focus my efforts on my writing. Especially as 'LADY SATAN' will be a series of books and not just a one off Mini-series.
