Greetings Everyone,

How the devil art thou?... I hope you're keeping well and safe.

I thought I would try something a little different with my Blog. So you can expect to see one of the see posts at the end of each month giving you a recap on what I've been up to.

The month of March has come to an end and it was a month that was filled to the brim with productivity and creativity. I've gained a sponsorship, made progress on comic book and music-related projects, spoken with several awesome comic book creators, spent time tending to my foxes and I've grown a little older too.

So, allow me to give you a recap of the events that took place over March.

Last year my birthday fell shortly after the UK went into its first full lockdown to combat the virus that has plagued the world and to help those wonderful people who are working hard for the NHS. Now, a little over a year later, I have celebrated another birthday in lockdown. This means that I'm only one year away from hitting the landmark of turning 40 years old!... Well, physically I'm one year away from turning 40...But mentally I'm still struggling to become older than 14 years old.

And even though I couldn't do much in the way of celebrating another year of existence on this planet, I was still able to see a couple of my closest friends for a brief period. And because of them, I received a special birthday card that allowed me to experience what it was like to be someone's Niece. An experience I never knew I wanted but I'm glad I got. Especially as it came attached to the last two volumes of the Hellboy Library Edition books that I needed to complete my collection.

Later that day I got to spend some time with one of my foxes, Junior, who was timely as always. Sadly, my other fox, Tails, didn't join me for my birthday celebrations. But I don't mind as he is clearly happy going on his adventures around the neighbourhood.

The evening was capped off by me sitting by myself and watching Zack Snyders Justice League. And even though early into the movie there were a couple of moments that made me physically cringe, I generally had a good time watching it. But that may have had something to do with the fact that I went into the movie with the lowest expectations possible.

I'm glad that I watched the movie and I had a good time watching it. But I don't see myself rewatching it any time soon.

As you may or may not know, many years ago I was the front-man of an alternative metal band named 'ABUSE'. We were active between the years of 2002 through to 2006. During that time we recorded one EP, one studio album and performed with such bands as Skindred, Breed 77 and Zeroscape.

After we split in 2006, we tried on various occasion to reform. But these attempts to reform never really went anywhere. Something that I was okay with. However, since the split, I have occasionally stepped back into music and focused more on Murderfolk and never returned to the world of Metal & Rock music.

But on Saturday, March 27th during my appearance on the awesome CRoM Con 12, I announced that I have been working on a new Metal project titled 'S&MAN'.

Helping me on this project has been a very talented musician and sound engineer from Italy who goes by the name of Eric Castiglia.

As I write this, Eric is recording and mixing the fifth and final instrumental track for the debut EP 'The Apex Disorder'.

Once Eric is done with the final instrumental track I'll have time to tighten the lyrics and practice the songs so that once the Covid restrictions are lifted far enough I can get myself into the recording studio to lay down the vocal tracks. An experience I am eagerly looking forward to.

I wish I could share all five tracks of the EP with you right now. However, that just isn't possible. Although, I did drop a twenty-second teaser trailer on my YouTube Channel that includes a snippet from one of the songs.

The teaser states that the EP will drop in the Winter of 2021. This is due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic. So while there is a possibility that the EP could be ready for release sooner than Winter, I would rather be safe than sorry and go with a rough release window of Winter 2021.

If you've been tuning in for live episodes of my podcast 'I HAVE ISSUES' then I have some news for you. Soon, the show will be pre-recorded instead of live.

Don't worry, this is only temporary for now. Just until LADY SATAN is released and in the hands of all the backers and readers.

As I write this correspondence, I have already managed to get two episodes pre-recorded and by the time you read this, I should already have another two episodes pre-recorded and schedule for release over April.

I know that a lot of listeners/viewers/readers like to watch the show live on YouTube, however, this is a necessary evil so that I can free up more time in my schedule to work on LADY SATAN and other projects that are coming soon.

The pre-recorded episodes will be published on my YouTube channel Every Monday at 8pm UK time (3pm EST), which means that you will also be able to watch them here on my website as well as being able to access the audio versions of those episodes at the same time from the podcast section of my website.

In fact, due to a slight hiccup with a previous guest, I had the opportunity to drop a pre-recorded episode early. In the episode, I got to sit down and talk with the awesome Indie Creator Jason Alexander.

You can watch the episode here:

During the past month, the IndieGoGo campaign for LADY SATAN hit its second stretch goal, unlocking more goodies for the backers to look forward to receiving in their packages when the book ships in July. And while it will be a little while before all of the backer perks arrive, I was delighted to see that the LADY SATAN pin badges/buttons had arrived.

They look absolutely wonderful, especially alongside the stickers and prints.

And of course, progress has been made on the book itself. This is nice to see as the marketing and promotional machine for the book doesn't stop. This means that I've had to juggle live stream and podcast appearances while working on several pages of artwork for the book...Don't get me wrong, I love doing the circuit and appearing on shows to talk about LADY SATAN. It's just sometimes you want to know that you have a full day uninterrupted where you can sit down to draw.

But when I look back at the pages that I've managed to produce during March, I'm excited. Some of the pages I've had the pleasure of working and have challenged me as an artist and I'm loving the results. So here's one of the new pages that I've produced for the book.

Taking care of wild foxes is a very rewarding experience. Especially when they trust you more than they would trust most people. And getting to see their unique personalities shine is just heartwarming.

Junior is just like his late father. He's loving and loyal but there is a part of him that can only be described as a grumpy old man trapped in a foxes body.

Tails is mischievous, excitable and has a devil may care attitude. He's happy to come and sit with me, especially if I have some ham for him, whereas Junior will come close but not too close.

While Tails likes to wait behind bushes and corners so that when I come out into the garden he jumps out and surprises me, Junior has taken to sitting at the end of my drive and guarding the house. The only problem being is that when Junior sees anyone on the opposite side of the street, he runs away...BEST...GUARD FOX...EVER!

Sadly, while watching him guard the house recently I saw that he has got a spot of mange on his tail. Mange can be a horrible thing for foxes but luckily, thanks to the wonderful people at 'The Fox Project' Junior is being treated for his mange and will hopefully be feeling better very soon.

I think I'll wrap things up by talking about the sponsorship that I managed to land myself recently.

Most writers and/or artists get sponsorships from pen companies, Brush companies and so on...But not I...Instead, I managed to land myself a sponsorship from a taxidermist called Malice Bazaar.

Don't worry, it doesn't mean that every time I write one of these pieces of correspondence that you'll have to put up with a section of me trying to sell you their products. It just means that on my video content I will be joined by my new lamp and have to let people know that that Malice Bazaar exists and where you can find their online store.

However, I will, just this once, tell you that you can find Malice Bazaar's Etsy store here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/MaliceBazaar

WARNING: Before you follow the link do know that what Malice Bazaar sells is not suitable for children, the easily offended or the faint of heart. However, I can say that if you like your morbid curiosities, then you will love what they have to offer. I actually bought a taxidermy crow from them months before they approached me about sponsorship, so I know first hand that they are brilliant at what they do!

Well, that's it or this month. But I will return at the end of April to give you all a recap of the weird and wonderful things that have taken place in my world for April. And I'll do my best to make sure that next time I give you some advice and tips that will hopefully help you with writing and creating your comic projects.

Until then: take care of yourself
