I believe darkness has a strange way of revealing who the real monsters are.
That belief began forming when I was very young. Growing up, imagination often became a quiet act of rebellion, and one evening a glimpse of Doctor Who opened my mind to the strange possibilities hidden just beyond the ordinary world.
Not long after, a childhood viewing of The Monster Squad sealed my fascination with the darker corners of storytelling.
That fascination eventually grew into a career as an award-winning horror comics and graphic novel author. It also led me toward tarot reading, paranormal investigation, and the creation of Little Lost Souls—a sanctuary devoted to haunted objects.
The Storyteller
Stories had always been there in the background of my life. As a child, I loved writing them, even when I was told that making a living from storytelling wasn’t realistic.
For a long time, I listened.
But when my father passed away, something shifted. Life suddenly felt too short to spend wondering what might have happened. So I made a decision that many people would consider reckless.
I left my job behind and committed myself fully to creating horror comics and graphic novels.
I haven’t looked back since.
The Investigator
My curiosity about the strange didn’t stop with storytelling.
After leaving home and rebuilding my life, I decided to pursue a long-standing interest in the paranormal and enrolled in formal training to become a paranormal investigator. Once I completed my qualification, I expected to find myself investigating haunted locations.
Instead, my very first case involved a haunted ornament.
That experience opened the door to something I hadn’t anticipated. One object led to another, and before long I found myself working on more and more cases centred around haunted items—dolls, ornaments, photographs, and other objects believed to carry a lingering presence.
It was a path I hadn’t planned, but one that quickly became impossible to ignore.
Little Lost Souls
Working with haunted objects taught me something most people never realise: not everything that is haunted is evil.
In fact, many of the spirits attached to these objects are kind, protective, and deeply human. Over time I began taking responsibility for some of these items, offering them a safe place where they could be respected rather than feared or discarded.
But I also saw the darker side of how haunted objects are sometimes treated. Curiosity, misunderstanding, and even cruelty can lead to them being mistreated or exploited.
That was what inspired me to create Little Lost Souls—a sanctuary dedicated to protecting haunted and unusual objects and the spirits connected to them.
Today, I care for twenty-three haunted objects, some with multiple spirits attached. My role is simple: to protect them, respect their stories, and ensure the souls connected to them are able to live their best afterlife.
Whether through storytelling, tarot, paranormal investigation, or caring for haunted objects, my work always returns to the same belief: the darkness often reveals far more about the human heart than we expect.
